FOR Malaysian fashion designer, Syomir Izwa, who is also the creative director of his own label, Syomirizwa Gupta, his brand is all about personal styling.
In a media conference with Syomir Izwa at the Seasons Restaurant in Gadong, he gave an exclusive peek into his business as well as his personal story in carving a name for himself in the fashion industry.
Over the past six years, Syomir Izwa came to realise that his label was receiving support from Bruneians who purchased his bridal collection and ready-to-wear pieces through online shopping sites.
His visit to the Sultanate is an opportunity to introduce Syomirizwa Gupta to his Bruneian clientele, and he looks forward to meeting them in person. He is also currently in Brunei to showcase his custom-made Eid Luxe 2016 at a private viewing for loyal patrons.

“This visit is a way of saying ‘thank you’ and to introduce all of you to Syomirizwa Gupta,” said Syomir. It would be nice to get to know my fans and supporters in person. I am also on the look-out for stylish Bruneians who wear clothes with the right amount of appeal!”
He also added that he and his team will return to Brunei in June, with Fashion Valet for the Hari Raya showing, which will be held at The Empire Hotel & Country Club.
Syomir’s distinguished designs, particularly his unexpected combination of bold colours and simple straightforward lines, have graced the feminine silhouettes of many beautiful women.
As Syomir’s fashion sense and style continued to mature, he found that his search for ideas took him closer to home – to the rich colours, shapes and designs of the East, as well as the myriad styles that have emerged through the confluence of cultures between East and West.
Often, he finds himself inspired by spirited, stylish women through chance encounters, while pondering over the theme of his next collection.
