THE Public Service Department under the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday celebrated the Civil Service Day by concurrently organising thanksgiving ceremonies nationwide.
In the Belait District, the ceremony was held at the RPN Kg Pandan Mosque which was attended by Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications.
Various members from government agencies were invited and those who attended received a Tahlil and Yaasiin book specially printed for the occasion.
The ceremony began with a mass Maghrib prayer, followed by the mass recitation of Tahlil and Surah Yaasiin.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Urustadbir Dinamik Ke Arah Kesejahteraan Negara: Dedikasi, Disiplin dan Integriti Menjamin Keberkesanan Perkhidmatan’.

When asked about recommendations in ways to uphold the theme, the Assistant Belait District Officer Hasmiron bin Haji Mohd Taib said that, “Members of the Public Service Department in the Belait District should be precise and dynamic in terms of good governance and competent with insight and we should help each other to help develop Brunei Darussalam to achieve the Vision 2035.” He also added on the importance of practicing good work ethics.
Also present during the event was the Legislative Council member YB Awang Haji Mohd Shafiee bin Ahmad cum Village Head of Kg Lumut 1; Belait District Officer, Haji Haris bin Haji Othman; Heads of Mukims and villages; officials and staff from the Belait District Office and the Public Service Department.
