GREAT Eastern Life Brunei (GELB) employees and distribution representatives gathered at Miri Marriott Resort and Spa on April 1 to celebrate the company’s achievers’ night and annual dinner according to a press release.
The theme of the night was ‘A Night in Africa’ and attendees came appropriately attired.
Caroline Sim, Head of GELB, said, “We took the opportunity of the occasion to applaud and recognise both our employees and top performing distribution representatives for their dedication and hard work for going the extra mile for our customers.”
In his speech, Ben Tan, Chief Distribution Officer, Great Eastern Life Singapore, thanked all for their hard work in contributing to GELB’s strong performance.
The main highlight of the night was the recognition of long-service staff and representatives, including top performers in sales last year. Sim presented the 15-year long service award to Jocelyn Wong, Operations Head, while under the representative category, Frankie Chua and David Liaw received the 30-year long service award.

Another representative, Lee Choon Yan received the 25-year award.
In the Top Achiever awards, Director Frankie Chua won the Top Director category and Joanne Liaw won the Top Manager category. Both top achievers were also the GELBAC HARBIN convention qualifiers.
As for the MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table), the award went to Director Vincent Goh, Director Frankie Chua and Manager Joanne Liaw and all three qualifiers will be joining the MDRT convention in Vancouver, Canada in June this year.
Other highlights included the Best Dressed Mr and Ms Great Eastern competition as well as lucky draws that offered attractive prizes.
