THE Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) through its Girl Scout Section has conducted a sign language workshop at the conference room on the fourth floor of the association’s headquarters along Jalan Gadong.
According to a press release, the three-day workshop which began on April 8 and will continue to April 10 and 15, was intended to enhance scout members’ awareness and knowledge on sign language while giving them understanding and opportunity to communicate and help fellow scout members and the public in general with hearing impairment. The workshop facilitator was Dr Hajah Norbayah binti Haji Shahminan, Education Officer/Coordinator at Hearing Impairment Aid Service, Special Education Unit, Ministry of Education.
Twenty scout members attended the workshop. Also present were Scout Chief Commissioner Haji Awang Badar bin Haji Awang Ali, scout commissioners, district scout commissioner, executive scout officers, scout leaders, junior scouts, venture scouts, and rover scouts.
