BAG Networks Sdn Bhd is launching Brunei’s first fully comprehensive and integrated system which is a platform for local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to establish their online presence, and allows businesses to manage various functions that are compatible with any device, said Haslina binti Haji Mohd Taib, the Chief Executive Officer of BAG Networks Sdn Bhd, in an interview with the Weekend Bulletin.

As part of a package for Darussalam Enterprise (DARe)’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ initiative, the local IT company has launched ‘Cendana’, a locally hosted, cloud-based business management suite, which was showcased during a visit to the Business Support Centre (BSC) last Thursday, by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

According to Haslina, “The package that we have done for DARe at the launching has over 3,000 modules built up, because we have integrated it with various packages and made it into one platform.

“For DARe, we have included the important modules and launched it as a ‘starting a business’ starter pack, which will be available to those on a first-come-first-served basis, until the end of the year.

“With our experience in providing solutions for corporate services such as finance and human resources (HR), we came up with an integrated system, where we combined most needs in one setting. We started off with a finance and HR inventory, and we included a how to build a portal as a drag and drop.

“We also included an online shop built into the system, as well as project management and a warehouse inventory.”

The Cendana suite is BAG Networks’ first product, which is fully supported by the Department of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister’s Office (EIDPMO), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MoFAT).

Cendana currently offers three packages – Silver, Gold and Platinum – that will help businesses to manage their accounts with Human Resources, Point of Sale and an Inventory as affordable add-on options.

“If you have a company, the last you want to do is buy a system that is costly,” said Haslina.

While Cendana was launched at the BSC, the product was also showcased in Hong Kong, along with Itsybytes, a local gaming development company representing Brunei, with the assistance of MoFAT.

“We are now in talks with Hong Kong companies and Chinese companies, which has opened a lot of doors for us,” said Haslina.

“This is the first step of BAG Networks’ venture into products, rather than just services, and there will be services on top of this product as well.

“We are venturing, with the help of the EIDPMO and MoFAT, to launch both the product and services overseas.”
