THREE Bruneian youths attended the first International FEALAC Youth Conference held in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia from September 18 to 22, 2015.
They were among the 100 participants from 30 countries in Asia and Latin America.
The conference was hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) of Indonesia.
The conference included a series of workshops, talks, site visits, working dinner and a public conference.
Ridhwan Kamil, Mayor of Bandung city, was one of the keynote speakers in the public conference.
The four-day event concluded with the adoption of Bandung Youth Declaration in which the participants from FEALAC members affirmed to several commitments for the betterment of youth in both Far East Asia and Latin America.

The declaration also welcomed the initiative of FEALAC Youth Forum as a bi-regional, a non-governmental organisation to promote and strengthen solidarity and cooperation among youth in both regions.
The Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) is an association of 36 countries from East Asia and Latin America that came together for the first time to form an official and regular dialogue channel between the two regions.
FEALAC mainly consists of regular meetings held at three levels: Foreign Ministers, Senior Officials and Working-Level Officials. Core group meetings are also held among FEALAC coordinators and other interested countries to facilitate the FEALAC process.
FEALAC aims to promote cooperation, better understanding and political and economic dialogue between East Asia and Latin America in order to achieve more effective, cooperative and fruitful relations in all areas.
