MAYBANK employees and members of the public answered the call to give the gift of life yesterday at a blood donation drive held in the main branch of the bank at Kiarong, Bandar Seri Begawan.

According to a press release, the campaign was co-organised with the Blood Donation Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital. The blood donors consisted of people from all walks of life, including first-timers.

Lim Su Hui, a blood donor who donates twice a year said, “It always feels good to be able to support the community in every little way possible and one of them is to donate blood which can help save other lives.”

The supervisor at RIPAS Hospital’s Blood Donation Centre, Haji Matusop bin Haji Daud, said, “Blood need is increasing year-to-year and we are very happy and appreciative that Maybank is also stepping up to help the Blood Donation Centre.”

The blood donation drive is just one of the many activities lined up for the bank’s ‘Cahaya Kasih’ programme which aims to tackle challenges faced by society through five focused areas: education, community empowerment, healthy living, environmental, and arts and culture.
