Department of Mosque Affairs holds Ratib Al-Attas ceremony for youths

THE Department of Mosque Affairs organised a Ratib Al Attas ceremony yesterday at the Kampong Salambigar Mosque in celebration of Israk Mikraj 1437H.

The religious event was attended by Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, the Director of Mosque Affairs under the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The ceremony commenced with a recitation of Surah Al Fatihah followed by the recitation of Ratib Al-Attas, led by Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Bungsu, Head Imam of the Kampong Salambigar Mosque. Around 300 youths from five schools in Zone 2B of Kampong Salambigar took part in the recitation.

According to the Department of Mosque Affairs, the recitation of the Ratib Al Attas brings many benefits, including peace and harmony within the family, with specific contents of the Al-Quran and Zikir included in the Ratib.

The Ratib recitations are usually performed after Maghrib and Subuh prayers and during an important event, whereby the Ratib is read 40 times by at least 40 congregants.

The ceremony ended with a recitation of the ‘Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam’, led by Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Mohd Tahir, the Imam of the Kampong Salambigar Mosque.
