THE Tedarus ceremony for the Ministry of Education (MoE) continued yesterday at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Mosque.
Held in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan, the event saw Minister of Education Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman. Also present was Deputy Minister of Education Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom Bin Pengiran Haji Bahar.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the minister. To bless the ceremony, a Doa Selamat was read by Imam Haji Jufri bin Haji Hidup, Head of Imam of UBD Mosque.
The ceremony continued with the presentation of endowment in the form of a water jet, two rolls of prayer mat and five Al-Quran stands by the minister to Saidai bin Haji Hitam, Dean of Students of UBD.

Present at the ceremony were Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) Dr Haji Junaidi bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, directors, officers and staff of the departments under the Ministry of Education.
This is an annual event by the ministry and this year it is jointly organised by the Department of Schools, Division of Higher Education, Division of Private Education of the Ministry of Education.
The event aims to enrich the month of Ramadhan by increasing acts of worship including the recital of the Al-Quran for getting multiple rewards from Allah the Almighty.
