THE Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society yesterday contributed essential food items to eight residents at Rumah Sinar Sejahtera of the Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre located at the Kampong Kiarong area.
The contribution, comprising rice, sugar, canned food and drinks, among others, is for use by the eight residents during the month of Ramadhan and upcoming Hari Raya festivities.
The donations were collected from the public through the Ihsan Ikhlas programme. It is hoped the donation will help lift the spirits of Rumah Sinar Sejahtera residents.
Receiving the contributions from Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society Secretary General Sheikh Haji Abdul Kadir bin Abdullah, on behalf of Rumah Sinar Sejahtera was Dr Hilda Ho Ming Choo, Consultant and Head of Psychiatric Department of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.

Dr Hilda Ho expressed her gratitude to Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society for the donations. Also present at the ceremony were executive members of Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society, Rumah Sinar Sejahtera residents and officials.
Meanwhile, collected items were also distributed to underprivileged families, orphans and widowers in all four districts through the branches of the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society.
