THE Ministry of Religious Affairs recently received 25 boxes of dates contributed by the Government of Saudi Arabia.

The boxes were handed over by Hussain Mohammed M Al-Dajani, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Brunei Darussalam, to Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The newly arrived dates are of the Khalas variety grown by Sukari and Nabthath cultivators, and will be distributed to selected mosques, suraus and religious halls across the country.

The presentation was the second of its kind, demonstrating the close ties between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to the warm relations between Saudi Arabia and Brunei Darussalam.

The presentation took place on the premises of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
