THE Fire and Rescue Department yesterday advised the public to use quality electronic items and ensure that electronic appliances are installed only by certified persons.
The department issued that advice after a fire damaged a house at Jalan Kelugos in Perpindahan Kampong Lumapas early yester-day morning.
The cause of fire was believed to be the addition of electrical wiring in a bedroom.
According to report from the department, the fire was already spreading fast on the first floor when firefighters from Sungai Kebun Fire Station, in three fire engines, arrived to battle the blaze that started at around 2.58am.
Fortunately all of the residents of the house escaped without any injuries. The loss from the fire is still under investigation.
