THE Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam (Pusat Ehsan) has developed a development master plan that will see the expansion of the centre’s facilities in order to enhance training and education for special needs individuals.
A foundation laying ceremony was held at Pusat Ehsan in Kampong Bengkurong yesterday to officially mark the start of the development of the rehabilitation block, which is the first phase of the project. The work is expected to be completed in January 2017.
The second phase will involve the develop-ment of a multi-purpose hall, administration building, surau, canteens, and parking and waiting area.
His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen who was accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess ‘Azemah Ni’matul Bolkiah graced the ceremony.
As part of the rehabilitation work and effort to accommodate individuals with special needs, Pusat Ehsan will include a special curriculum with training sessions and workshops that were initiated last year as well as bring in consultants from Singapore and Malaysia.
