AS PART of its annual religious activity to enliven the holy month of Ramadhan, the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) yesterday hosted a special religious lecture at the Bolkiah Garrison and the suraus of its military base nationwide to commemorate the Nuzul Al-Quran celebration this year.
At the MinDef Surau in Bolkiah Garrison, a special lecture titled ‘Al-Quran: The spiritual and physical healer and remedy’ was attended by personnel from the MinDef and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
Attending as guest of honour was First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, Deputy Minister of Defence, who also joined the mass Zohor prayer before the commencement of the event.
Some of the excerpts from the lecture delivered by guest lecturer Ustaz Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak included a reminder of the time when the Al-Quran was revealed, an extraordinary moment in Islamic history and also in instilling understanding and admiration of the Al-Quran, especially in the holy month.

The event concluded with the presentation of a memento from the Deputy Minister of Defence to the guest lecturer.
Also present at the event was Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, and other senior officials.
