FIRST Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence, Brunei Darussalam, received an introductory call from Biravij Suwanpradhes, the Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam at Bolkiah Garrison, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The ambassador presented his credential to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on March 23, 2016.
During the call, the deputy minister and the ambassador expressed satisfaction at the active bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Thailand especially in the area of defence.
In military to military cooperation, the deputy minister hoped that the armed forces of both countries will continue to work closely together at all levels. He commended Thailand’s strong support in all the Asean Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and Asean Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) initiatives which were hosted by Brunei Darussalam. The deputy minister also congratulated and expressed support to all Thailand’s initiatives under the ADMM and ADMM-Plus frameworks.
The call ended with both sides looking forward to further strengthening cooperation in the field of defence including through exchanges of visits; joint training and courses; and interaction activities of personnel.
