A PRESENTATION of Long Service Medal (PKL) awards was held yesterday for 32 officers and staff from the Ministry of Finance, and all departments under it.
Officiating at the ceremony – which was held at the Ministry of Finance building – was Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance II.
Among those in attendance was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hisham bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, the Deputy Minister of Finance; and Dato Paduka Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, the Deputy Minister of Finance.
The PKL honorary award is bestowed in recognition for officials and personnel who have served around 20 years under a monthly salary, and who have also met specific terms such as good character, with active participation in internal office and National Day activities.

Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Permanent Secretary (Management and International) at the Ministry of Finance, said that all of the recipients had shown a high work commitment and loyalty towards their monarch.
Yesterday’s ceremony was held to mark the 68th and 69th birthdays of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
