AS HARI RAYA festivities drew nearer, shopping centres were overwhelmed with families along with children looking for bargains. Promotions and operation hours were extended until midnight and this led to shopping areas being jammed pack with last-minute shoppers.
Last-minute shopping has always been normal for people in the Sultanate for Hari Raya celebration.
Pengiran Norsiah binti Pengiran Ibrahim, shopping with her daughter, said they were in a rush to get her shopping done by the end of the day.
Irdayati binti Haji Moksin was also shopping with her young children, and said there was a slight rush to get things done.
Marya Heneesa, one of the shoppers, said many expo booths offered amazing discounts and special deals.
“For example, ‘buy one free one item’ is always offered at this time. Therefore, I often take this opportunity to look for items that I want to buy,” she added.
