A FULL-DRESS rehearsal was held at the Padang Bandaran, Kuala Belait yesterday, in preparation for the upcoming Junjung Ziarah by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, to the Belait District, on July 23.
This year will witness the participation of several mukims, schools, army personnel as well as representatives from several major oil and gas companies.
The Deputy Managing Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd, Haji Kamaludin bin Haji Bungsu, informed the media that around 200 personnel from these companies are participating, with 80 of them expatriates.
“Various performances and exhibitions have been planned for His Majesty, including cultural displays from the expatriates, while they welcome the Sultan in their own unique way,” he said. “We are grateful to be given the opportunity to make this event a success, and will continue to work together with the residents of the Belait District to enliven the occasion.”

Present to oversee the inspection was Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of the Executive Committee for His Majesty’s 70th birthday celebrations.
Also present at the full-dress rehearsal were Haji Mohd ‘Abdoh bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Salam, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Haji Idris bin Haji Ali and Haji Mohammad Sunadi bin Haji Buntar, Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs; and Haji Haris bin Othman, the Belait District Officer.
