THE Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) held a ceremony to celebrate its retired officers and staff yesterday.
Held at the MCYS building, the ceremony saw 56 retired officers and staff presented with awards to acknowledge their contributions.
The event was held to appreciate, recognise and remember the deeds of the retired officers and staff in carrying out their duties with dedication, commitment and accountability during their service with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and its departments.
Attending as the guest of honour at the event was Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, who presented the awards.

Yesterday’s event also featured a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration for staff of the MCYS and its departments.
Also present at yesterday’s event were Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Paduka Dr Haji Affendy bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil.
The attendees also included senior officers and staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and its departments.
