FOUR families received a total of $8,400 in cash donations yesterday, as part of DST’s ‘Ihsan Kasih’ charity programme.
Three of the families were victims of a recent fire in Kampong Sungai Kebun, while one was left homeless after their house in Kampong Sungai Matan collapsed.
Each family head received a donation of $2,100, while five children listed from the households received cash gifts of $50 or $100 for their educational and daily expenses.
The presentation ceremony was held at the DST Headquarters in Tungku Link, and on hand to present the donations was Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Hussain, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DST.
As part of DST’s community outreach, the ‘Ihsan Kasih’ programme is aimed at making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, including families affected by disasters.
