UNIVERSITI Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Discovery Year (DY) programme had brought more Bruneians to experience life in Korea, one of the successful industrialised Asian countries in the world.
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Brunei Darussalam organised a briefing for UBD students who are going to take their DY in Korea.
The briefing consists of former DY students providing some useful knowledge, tips and preparation to the students.
In an interview, Kwon Mi-yeon, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Brunei Darussalam said the embassy took the initiative to organise such a briefing so that the students will be better prepared before their exciting journey to experience life in Korea.
“We invite UBD students who had their DY in Korea to share their experiences and give some useful tips beforehand,” she said.
Annually, about 100 Brunei students are going to Korea for an exchange programme where they spend around six months, studying in various Korean universities.

She said the embassy is glad that more Bruneian students are coming to Korea under the programme.
Nurul Aliah Fathiah binti Haji Abdullah and Siti Nur Afiqah Wajihah Syahindah binti Haji Marali, among the students who attended the briefing yesterday had hope that the they could gain some insight about what to expect in Korea.
Thien Yih En (Hannah), Mohamad Akmal Fauzan and Nadzirah Hanani, students who went to Korea and successfully completed the DY programme, shared their experience with the participants during the briefing.
