SINCE August 8, Politeknik Brunei and Maybank Brunei had managed to collect around seven trucks worth of donated items for the ‘Recycle Reuse Reach-Out with SMARTER Brunei’, a collaborative project between the two institutions for Maybank Global Corporate Responsibility Day. These items are up for sale at the Maybank Outreach to SMARTER Garage Sale at the parking lot of Jalan Bendahara in the heart of the capital.
A handing over of the donated items was done yesterday. Bobby Sia, Head of Business Banking and Transaction Banking of Maybank Brunei said in his welcoming remark, “Today is the day where we showcase our ‘Cahaya Kasih Employee Volunteerism Programme’ that we do throughout the year for our adopted community and cause.”
Over 18,000 Maybankers in 17 countries, including Brunei, are holding their respective programmes for the Maybank Global Corporate Responsibility Day.
“The collective commitment that Maybankers have towards this day, truly demonstrates our humanising mission to be at the heart of the community. The programmes are not one-off initiatives. They have been carried out over time to ensure sustainability and long-term impact.”
