RESIDENTS living at Jalan 99 of Kg Rimba National Housing Scheme are facing a new menace – stray dogs.
The residents in this area are alarmed over the increasing number of strays wandering around the place targeting pet cats and damaging house properties.
“It has been three occasions since the fasting month that these stray dogs caused havoc in the village. One day my cat was chased by 12 dogs and had to take shelter underneath my car,” Linda, a local resident, told the Bulletin.
“These dogs that scavenge on waste have destroyed our household properties not even sparing shoes and slippers. I’ve informed my neighbours to take action against this problem,” she added.
“I have reported this matter to the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department only to be informed that Rimba housing area is beyond their jurisdiction.”
Meanwhile, Halim of Kg Sungai Tilong also shared a similar experience and feared of rabies disease outbreak.
