KUPU SB marks Ma’al Hijrah 1437 with religious talk

MORE than 150 participants yesterday attended a religious talk at the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) in conjunction with the recent Ma’al Hijrah 1437 celebration, held at the Tarbiyah Hall of KUPU SB.

Present as the guest of honour was Ustaz Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Deputy Ra’es of KUPU SB. Also present were senior officers, lecturers, officers, staff members and students of KUPU SB.

The event began with the recitation of Asmaa al-Husna and Surah Al-Fatihah by Ashizal bin Zainal Abidin, Art and Islamic Culture Body Exco at KUPU SB.

In a welcoming remark from the Dean of Students Ustaz Dr Haji Hambali bin Haji Jaili, he hoped that the students will gain beneficial knowledge from the talk as well as blessing from Allah the Almighty.

A special talk was delivered by Ustaz Helmy Baihaqy bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Education, on the historical migration of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from Makkah to Madinah and the significance of the event to all Muslims across the globe.

A Doa Selamat was later recited by Abdul Raqib bin Haji Awang, the Exco for Religious and Takmir Surau, which marked the end of the event.

Among the objectives of the event is to foster the relationship and cooperation between the citizens of KUPU SB and to gain blessings from Allah the Almighty in welcoming the new Islamic year.
