34 cadet officers receive ranks

COMMANDER of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah yesterday presented ranks to 34 new cadet officers from the 16th Intake of the Officer Cadet School (OCS) during an appointment ceremony held at the Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) in Tanah Jambu.

Services commanders, military directors, commandant, acting commandant, senior officers, officers and staff of DA RBAF, along with family members of the officer cadets turned up for the event.

Speaking to the Weekend Bulletin, Officer Cadet (Ocdt) Siti Noraffeefa binti Haji Md Shukri expressed hopes of acing the 52-week training with flying colours and to become an army officer befitting the country’s expectation.

Meanwhile, Ocdt Wan IzzZafir Alawi bin Mohd Kassim expressed hopes of successfully graduating as an officer by the end of training.

Ocdt Md Zulfadli Hayat bin Shamsul Hayat hopes to be able to graduate as a commissioned army officer by the end of the training, and to also make both his family and country proud by receiving the Sword of Honour Award.

The 52-week training will develop the officer cadets military leadership, character and intellect to prepare them for their first appointment as newly commissioned officers in the RBAF.
