SOME 699 underprivileged individuals in the Tutong District yesterday received Korban meat from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the royal family in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha.
The distribution was officiated by Deputy Minister of Education Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar in a ceremony at the Tutong District Civic Centre Complex.
Present to receive the sacrificial meat were 200 heads of family.
Twenty other families received theirs earlier at the Istana Nurul Iman.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Takbir Hari Raya Aidiladha by Mohd Fauzi bin Haji Anuar, Mosque Affairs Officer/Acting Head of Zone I, Department of Mosque Affairs. The event ended with a Doa Selamat by Mohd Fauzi.

Meanwhile, the Village Consultative Councils of Kampong Menengah and Bukit Sulang in Mukim Lamunin, together with the Takmir Committee of Kampong Menengah Mosque also held a Korban ceremony yesterday.
Acting Assistant Tutong District Officer Haji Haizul Rizal bin Haji Yahya was guest of honour at the event. Some 28 residents participated in the ceremony, where four buffaloes were sacrificed. Five underprivileged individuals from Kampong Menengah and Bukit Sulang also received sacrificial meats.
