THE Porsche lineage of exclusive sports vehicles were on show at the Porsche Centre Brunei showroom during the Porsche Family Day yesterday.
Attended by guests and enthusiasts of the high-performance sports car brand, the event was highlighted by the unveiling of four captivating, new Porsche vehicles – the turbocharged Porsche 718 Cayman, the Porsche 718 Cayman S, the Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition and the iconic 911 GT3 RS.
QAF Eurokars Deputy General Manager Clement Chong and After-Sales Regional Manager of Porsche Asia Pacific Pte Ltd Trevor Baseggio unveiled the vehicles.
The all-new 718 Cayman is named after the Porsche 718 race car, an iconic champion that delivered countless podium finishes in the 1960s, many of them against considerable odds.
Clement Chong said the Porsche 718 Cayman expanded on the range of the 718 mid-engine sports car series that carried the fighting spirit of the original Porsche 718 which inspired pride and fierce conviction.
“For the first time, the price positioning of the hard-top two-seater models are below convertibles with a more distinctive design, a re-engineered chassis and the current generation of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system,” he said.
The Family Day was held to appreciate customers and staff of the Porsche community, and concluded the launching by Porsche Centre Brunei of the family of two-door mid-engine sports cars, just three months after the launch of the long-anticipated 718 Boxster.
The family event included several fun-filled activities especially for children such as face-painting, a colouring contest and a magic show.

Guests were treated to a dazzling array of food dishes from top restaurants.
Porsche car owners were also offered a free car clinic and tyre inspection by Michelin, the recommended tyre brand for Porsche vehicles.
The tyre educational talk and complimentary tyre inspection were made possible in collaboration with Michelin’s authorised distributor in Brunei, Sin Hup Huat Company.
