THE 24th Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Convocation Ceremony yesterday saw a total of 13 students from various fields presented with Best Performance and Excellent Student awards for their commitment and dedication to their studies throughout their years with IBTE.
Nur Syifaa’ binti Haji Arjuna, who graduated with BDTVEC Diploma in Construction from the School of Energy and Engineering at the IBTE Nakhoda Ragam Campus, in an interview with the Bulletin said that she was humbled to have been selected as the recipient of the award.
According to her, construction was her first choice when she first registered for the course two years ago because she had taken Design and Technology during her sixth form years and was excited that she was able to polish her knowledge and skills in the field.
Nur Syifaa’ hoped to continue her studies to obtain Higher National Diploma (HND) or Diploma Level 5 at the Politeknik Brunei Lumut Campus.
“We need to understand what we have learnt. Do not be afraid to ask questions. As long as you’re committed to what you love, enjoy it and do your best,” she said.

Awangku Mohamad Afiq bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, Diploma in Audio and Video Systems.
She also expressed her deep gratitude for her lecturers, teachers and friends for the support throughout her two years of studies. She hoped that the local youth will strive to give their best in their academics to achieve success in life.
Awangku Mohamad Afiq bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, another recipient of the Best Performance award, who graduated with Diploma in Audio and Video Systems said that he was grateful to Allah the Almighty for the award.
Awangku Mohamad Afiq works under the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and was given the opportunity to continue his studies for two years at the IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus as an in-service student.
“I am grateful for the opportunity that was given to me. The course that I have taken for two years was very relevant to my duties and responsibilities at the RBAirF and I hope that I can share the knowledge and skills with my colleagues,” he said.
