UNIVERSITI Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) has received a visit by a delegation from Rabithah al-Jami ‘at al-Islamiyyah (Islamic Universities League or IUL).
The delegation was led by Professor Dr Nabil Mohammed Tawfik, Dean of Humanities Faculty, Al-Azhar University who was accompanied by Waleed Abdel Monem El Said Ibrahim, Public Relations Officer of IUL.
In a meeting with UNISSA Rector, Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, the IUL delegation presented a membership certificate to appoint UNISSA as a member of the organising council of IUL.
The IUL delegation discussed with UNISSA about planning an international seminar that will be held in the future and will feature scholars from other Islamic universities according to a press release.
One of the activities during the visit was a lecture presented by Professor Dr Nabil Mohamed Tawfik entitled ‘Islam and Sociology’ which touched on sociology and history of Western development and also the Muslim world.
The lecture was attended by Deputy Rector, Dr Haji Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad, Assistant Rector, Dr Arman bin Haji Asmad and lecturers of UNISSA.
