THE Prisons Department yesterday held final round of shooting skill among the department institutions at the Binturan Shooting Range Complex, Penanjong Garrison.
Present as guest of honour was Haji Ismail bin Haji Murat, Acting Director of Prisons, who later presented prizes to the winners.
Five categories were contested – Men’s Senior Officer, Men’s Senior PTB, Male Warder, Women’s Senior Officer PTB and Female Warder.
Best shooters for men’s and women’s went to Kamis bin Juing and Roheda binti Haji Mohamad Idris respectively.
VIP Pistol (SIG P239) doubles category was also contested. Team of Ali bin Haji Awang Rashid and Ilham bin Haji Muhamad emerged champions of the category. Headquarters team emerged champions overall from the contest.

Such event is an annual one for the Prisons Department. The objectives of which are to equip personnel with knowledge, competence and skills to face any possibilities.
The skills exercise was conducted over a four-day span, November 14-17. The format this year is individual and team shooting using M16 rifle.
Also present at the ceremony were Poh Eng Hua, Acting Deputy Director of Prisons; invited guests, chiefs, deputy management chiefs, and Prisons Department officers.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa read by Sabtu bin Haji Abdul Ghani.
