AFTER learning the beauty of Islamic values and principles, 26-year-old police personnel, Rosimartinah binti Kugi’s wish to embrace Islam became reality yesterday. Her chosen Muslim name is Rosimartinah binti Abdullah Kugi.
Her aspiration to embrace Islam had already been long, where in an interview she said she was attracted to the values and truthfulness of Islam from her friends and work colleagues.
Rosimartinah from Tutong is currently working at the Sengkurong Police Station. The conversion ceremony took place at her home at Kg Pengkalan Tangsi Lamunin, Tutong, and was witnessed by her family members and work colleagues.
Present as the guest of honour was, Senior Police Superintendent Pengiran Zaidi bin Pengiran Haji Metali, Deputy Director of the Traffic Control and Investigation Department (JSKLL) of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), as Chairman of Islamic Religious Body of the RBPF (BUI) and his wife, Suriani binti Haji Mohd Said.

At the ceremony, souvenirs from BUI were presented to Rosimartinah by the guest of honour’s wife.
The conversion ceremony was administered by the Islamic Da’wah Centre.
The ceremony started with Rosimartinah reciting the ‘Syahadah’ and ended with Dikir Marhaban and the pouring of scented flowers.
