YI CHANG-HOON, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam, yesterday expressed his gratitude to the management of AIFA Sdn Bhd for successfully expanding the market and sales of LG products since January 1984, making it one of the most sought-after products in Brunei.
Yi Chang-hoon was the guest of honour for a presentation of a certificate of approval from the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for the LG Inverter Air-Conditioner.
Organised by AIFA Sdn Bhd, the event was held at the Stadium Restaurant in Berakas.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “As you all know, LG is one of Korea’s main appliances manufacturer. Surprisingly, the amount of time that AIFA and LG have spent working hand- in-hand is the same as that of the history of diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and Korea.”
He also wished success for those acquiring sales certificates from AIFA, noting a rise in demand for LG air-conditioning in public places, government buildings and private homes.

In his speech, AIFA Sdn Bhd Managing Director Dr Lau Sie Chuong said his company was pleased to have received a certification of approval from the Brunei government for the LG Inverter Air-Conditioner.
The LG Inverter Air-Conditioner is makes use of environmentally friendly R410 gas, which saves energy consumption.
The day also saw a lucky draw, with the guest of honour picking the name of the winners.
Among those in attendance were AIFA Sdn Bhd General Manager Lily Ngo, Brunei Electrical Association President Sng Teck Ann, dealers and invited guests.
