THE Indonesia Showcase 2015 was yesterday launched at Times Square Shopping Centre in Berakas, held as part of celebrations of the 70th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
Members of the public are welcome to check out the exhibition to learn more about the culture, education and culinary techniques of Indonesia. The exhibition will run until tomorrow.
The showcase was launched by Dr (HC) Ahmad Hasyim Muzadi, a member of the President of Indonesia Advisory Council.
In a speech, Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Nurul Qomar expressed hopes the exhibition will deepen the understanding between Indonesia and Brunei, particularly in the fields of economy and education.
“As Indonesia and Brunei enter the Asean Community by the end of this year, may we expect that the momentum will bring the two countries into stronger cooperation, along with other Asean members countries. This will be beneficial for the peace, security and prosperity of the region,” she said.

The Indonesia Showcase 2015 features 27 booths. The education section will highlight the top universities in Indonesia, introducing world renowned programmes to students of Brunei.
The showcase will enlighten visitors on the Indonesian culture, with a section dedicated to paintings. It also includes a mini batik workshop.
Members of the public can also sample some of Indonesia’s cuisines along with diverse choices of Indonesian food products. Additionally, there will be a cooking competition as well as cooking demonstrations by Indonesian chefs.
