MORE than 500 women from various associations, mosques, officials and employees of the government and private companies attended a special religious talk yesterday in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul celebration celebrated across the nation. The event was held at the Main Hall of the Tutong Civic Centre Complex.
Present as the guest of honour at the event yesterday was Datin Hajah Seri Lailawati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Judin, the spouse of the Deputy Minister of Finance.
The event began with the recitation of verses from the Al-Quran by Hajah Entan binti Jalli, Hajah Rusini binti Haji Mohd Yusuf and Hajah Rusni binti Tungal. The event then continued with welcoming remarks from Zikrinaidah binti Haji Mat Dikir, Co-Chairperson of the Maulidur Rasul Celebration for the Tutong District.
In her remarks, she highlighted that the objectives of the event was to enliven the birthday celebration of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) apart from seeking blessings and guidance from Allah the Almighty.

She further stated that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the best example of a person in seeking the qualities of visionary leaders in contributing to the development of a stable, peaceful and prosperous nation.
The event then continued with a special religious talk by an invited speaker, Dr Hajah Masnooraini binti Haji Mohiddin, Dean of the Syariah and Law Faculty of the Univesiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) based on this year’s theme ‘Berwawasan Yang Berkat Dengan Bercontoh Kepada Rasulullah SAW’.
A Dikir Marhaban performance was later delivered by the Muslimah of the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque Tutong and the event ended with a recitation of Doa Selamat.
