LOCAL vendors attended a full-day ‘Partnership Enablement and Data Centre Solutions Training’ to learn about market trends and products.
The event, held in collaboration between Brusin Trading Company Sdn Bhd and Schneider Electric at The Rizqun International Hotel yesterday, also offered the vendors consultation on data centre planning.
Jeffrey Yap, Country President of Schneider Electric in Brunei Darussalam, explained in his opening remarks the changing market trends in IT data centre operations that are being influenced by modern Internet use and convergence of IT and mobile devices.
He highlighted that traffic trends from the use of mobile phones have been expanding over 23 per cent annually, which in turn raises demand for storage services such as Cloud and Co-location while also increasing connection points via smart phones, smart home, smart buildings, smart cities and smart nations.
Speaking to the Borneo Bulletin, he said that Schneider Electric provides products and services to the public and private sector, which includes companies in the oil and gas industry and construction.
Also attending the training as the guest speaker was Stephen Djong, also from Schneider Electric. He provided information on market trends and challenges before conducting a product training for participants.
According to Schneider Electric, “customers who adopt a data centre ecosystem will benefit from a modular, scalable architecture. A modular approach to data centre architecture will allow customers to delay capital expenditures, right size environment and reduce operational expenditure.”
