THE Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School (SMALHB) conducted an Open Day at the multipurpose hall of SMALHB yesterday.
The event was officiated by the guest of honour, Ustazah Hajah Rusita binti Haji Yahya, Acting Director of Islamic Studies, Islamic Studies Department.
The Open Day was targeted at Year 11 students from Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD), Ma’had Islam Brunei and Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
Among those who participated in the Open Day were Human Resources Development and Scholarships Unit, Department of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Counselling and Career Guidance Section, Department of Schools, Student Affairs and Co-Curriculum Section as well as academic departments of SMALHB.

The main objectives of the event were to serve as a platform for these students to select their courses when they enter Pre-U1 next year, as well as to provide information and guidance to the students and their parents or guidance.
In addition, the students were also introduced to types of scholarships offered in various fields, and also clubs and associations available at SMALHB.
The Open Day was also enlivened with a mini video presentation of SMALHB and quizzes; exhibitions as well as bazaars.
