THE Borneo Research Centre (penBorneo) held the second session of its Lecture Series programme recently.
The centre, which under the umbrella of the Brunei History Centre, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, has again focused its objectives on the significance of history in particular the region of Borneo, as well as promoting the region as a choice destination for research and analysis.
Chaired by Haji Muhaimin bin Haji Mohamed, officer of the Brunei History Centre, the lecture was presented by Associate Professor Dr Ali bin Mohamad, lecturer at the Faculty of Arabic Language and Islamic Civilisation, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA).
The 2nd session of the Lecture Series programme was attended by over 40 participants from various government ministries and departments as well as from higher educational institutions.

This programme also aims to create interest and enthusiasm in undergraduate students to conduct meaningful research into the development and history of Borneo, and the progression of Islam in island.
Participants are given a diverse platform from which they can share views and experiences with the lecturer and among themselves.
They will also have the opportunity to enhance their skills in their analysis of the history of Borneo in a systematic and rational method, and generate important feedbacks from themselves and the lecturer.
