Military officers finish Junior Staff Course

THE Junior Staff Course (JSC) drew to a close yesterday with a closing ceremony being held at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Kampong Tanah Jambu.

Present as the guest of honour was Brigadier General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Apart from presenting certificates, the acting comman-der also presented awards to those who have excelled in the course.

821 Captain (U) Wan Muhd Azem bin Haji Muhd Aminuddin was named the Overall Best Student as well as the Best Research Essay whereas the Best Service Paper was awarded to 816 Captain Hajah Norul Hafidzah binti Haji Muhammad.

The 14-week course began on September 7, 2015. It was an essential course for mid-level officers to improve their overall military knowledge through out-lined course programmes with focus on professional knowledge, leadership and management, communication skills and operational planning.

There were a total of 26 participants including 19 officers from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, an officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force and six international students from the Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Singapore, Kingdom of Thailand and Socialist Republic of Vietnam respectively. All participants are looking forward to fulfilling their potential as capably confident staff officers back in their own units.

Also present at the closing ceremony were the services commanders, directors, senior Royal Brunei Armed Forces officers, defence attaches and advisors, and staff of the Defence Academy.
