THE Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong yesterday led a Dikir delegation from the Ministry of Home Affairs and departments under it to Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque in Kuala Belait.
The event was in conjunction with the celebration of Maulud Nabi for the year 1437 Hijrah. Dikir Syarafil Anam ceremony will be held every night throughout the celebration of Maulidur Rasul.
The event began with a mass Maghrib prayer and followed by a Dikir recitation led by a group from the Fire and Rescue Department, members of the Mukim Kuala Belait Consultative Council and Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque’s Takmir committee.
The event ended with mass Isyak prayer and the recitation of Dikir Marhaban.

The Ministry of Home Affairs entourage will also hold similar events simultaneously across selected mosques throughout the country.
Also present at the event were YB Awang Haji Mohd Shafiee bin Ahmad, member of Legislative Council and Village Head of Kg Lumut 1; YB Awang Haji Mohd Yusof bin Haji Dulamin, member of Legislative Council and Village Head of Kg Mumong; Haji Mohd ‘Abdoh bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Salam, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; deputy permanent secretaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Belait District Officer; head of departments, officers and personnels at the Ministry of Home Affairs; penghulus and village heads as well as members of the Mukim Kuala Belait Consultative Councils.
