AS THE year draws nearer to a close, Kampong Belimbing feted the holiday season with a Family Fest featuring various homemade products, a fishing event and sports activities held at the Tasik Sarubing Recreational Park.
The guest of honour at the event was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Haji Mohd ‘Abdoh bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Salam, who was accompanied by his spouse.
The event was attended by a member of Legislative Council and Village Head of Kampong Belimbing, YB Awang Haji Gapor @ Haji Mohd Daud bin Karim, ; Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office who is also the Advisor II of the Village Consultative Council (MPK) of Kampong Belimbing, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Roselan bin Haji Mohd Daud and spouse; Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Haji Mohammad Sunadi bin Haji Buntar; Advisor I of the MPK Kampong Belimbing, Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab; Acting District Officer of the Brunei-Muara District, Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim; Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu, Naim bin Haji Kamis and spouse; as well as village heads of Mukim Kota Batu, invited guests, members of the MPK Kampong Belimbing and residents of Kampong Belimbing and Kampong Subok.
In his speech, YB Awang Haji Gapor @ Haji Mohd Daud lauded the attendance of the permanent secretary who attested his support for the excellent efforts made by the residents of Kampong Belimbing, with their various activities namely the ‘One Village, One Product’ programme and various youth programmes that showcased enterprising ventures by the local residents.
