A briefing was conducted by the Acting Officer-in-Charge of Central Police Station Inspector Mohd Faizal Iswandy bin Ali Othman prior to the launching the operations.

In the Brunei-Muara District operations, 19 compound offences were recorded and five police warnings were issued.

‘Ops Tegas 4’ is a series of comprehensive nationwide operations that are being conducted to enforce road safety regulations as the Royal Brunei Police Force found that road accidents, especially those resulting in deaths, occur due to road users’ carelessness and disregard for the law.

The operation was launched on the basis of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah at 28th National Day celebrations on February 23, 2012.

The titah emphasised the importance of prevention as an effective tool in handling the rising road accidents in Brunei by means of enforcing the existing rules and regulations.
