NEW DELHI (Xinhua) – India will unveil a blueprint for start-ups in the country on Jan 16 in a bid to tap bright young minds, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Sunday.

“On August 15, from the Red Fort, I talked about India becoming a start-up destination. On Jan 16, we are coming out with an action plan on start-ups,” Modi said in his monthly radio address to the nation.

He added, “The ‘Start-up India, Stand-up India’ programme will connect bright minds from information technology in all colleges through live connectivity. Youth all over India have the talent and the capability to propel India’s growth.”

The Indian prime minister has time and again stressed the importance of entrepreneurship and the resulting job creation in getting the nation to move forward.

Several start-up companies have come up in recent times, with a large number of them having their offices in Gurgaon, some 30km from the national capital. These start-ups are spread across several fields like food, IT and cab aggregator service.
