THE 1987 alumni of Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan (MSPSBS) recently reunited for the first time in 23 years, at the Orchid Garden Hotel.
The reunion was made possible after some former classmates contacted each other through WhatsApp. They had all parted ways after completing their secondary education in the early 1990s.
Some received government scholarships or private funding to pursue further education abroad, while the rest continued their studies at local higher education institutions.
Their hard work and determination has served them well. Several of them are now holding high positions in the government and private sectors, as well as carving their own niche in the fields of business and entrepreneurship.
Despite treading different paths in terms of career and personal lives, the friendships made during their formative years held special meaning for them. The bittersweet memories shared during the gathering clearly demonstrated the strong bonds between them.
The reunion commenced with recitations of Surah Al-Fatihah and a Doa. This was followed by a speech and the presenting of tokens. Various activities were held including a photography session, a slideshow presentation, exchange of gifts, and a lucky draw.
