THE law enforcement unit of BSB Municipal Department in its operation ‘Nahi Mungkar’ yesterday afternoon handed out warning notices to three eateries in Batu Satu for allegedly serving food to patrons during the two-hour period of Friday prayers.
Business premises nationwide close on Fridays from 12 noon to 2pm to respect the prayers and this has been enforced since November 2012.
Two of the three restaurants found to be serving food by the enforcement personnel are Chinese and the remaining one is Indian.
These restaurants were found to serve customers past 12.15pm.
The front door of one of the restaurants was found closed but the back door was open for customers.
The law enforcement unit reminded local eateries that if a final notice is served, the business licence will lapse.
The law enforcement unit also reiterated that all business premises should comply with the rules and regulations in the country.
