THE market might be small but that doesn’t mean there is no potential at all.
This was stated by local actor Wu Chun as he gave a statement pertaining to the recent titah delivered by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, to establish a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) centre to support the needs of local SMEs in the country.
Wu Chun is known to be an avid entrepreneur after opening several businesses in the country which range from the food to fashion industry.
“Brunei is my hometown and it is where my family and friends live. This place is very special to me. That’s the reason I established these businesses, hoping to offer Bruneians more choices and at the same time to make Brunei a better place to live in,” he pointed out.

“It’s definitely a good start because an SME centre not only provides good supporting structure, it will also aid as a communication platform to hear what entrepreneurs are facing in the country. Good communication between the government and SMEs is vital to economy growth and this action will certainly give a motivational boost for the economy and unemployment rate,” he added.
Touching on the younger generations, he said “They are our future and it is part of our mission to provide them with inspiration and guidance to change the current environment and cultural mindset to be one that is hungry for success, achievement, and not forgetting to give back to the community.”
Wu Chun also lauded the plan conveyed in the New Year titah to emphasise tourism in the country, expressing interest in doing his part to bring more tourists to Brunei.
