IN CONJUNCTION with its upcoming 2nd Convocation, 181 graduating students from Politeknik Brunei’s third intake took part in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony yesterday at the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Manggis / Madang.
Attending as the guest of honour was Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Education, and his spouse.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the deputy minister, followed with the mass recitation of verses from the Al-Quran by the graduating students.
A Doa Takhtim, Doa Khatam and Dikir Marhaban followed suit, before the ceremony’s conclusion with a closing prayer that was read by the Imam of the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque.

Also present at the event were Dr Haji Junaidi bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education and Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education.
The ceremony was organised by the Islamic Studies Division, Department of General Studies in collaboration with the Centre for Student Development and Innovation and the Department of Student Affairs, Politeknik Brunei.
