NO BRUNEIANS were harmed in the multiple explosions and gunfire in the Indonesian capital Jakarta yesterday afternoon, the Brunei Embassy in Indonesia confirmed through a statement.
The Embassy said following the incident, which is reported to be linked to terrorist group ISIS, they got in touch with all registered Bruneian residents who are currently in the Indonesian capital including students and found them safe and sound.
The Embassy added that they will continuously monitor the situation and urged Bruneians who need assistance or information to contact them through telephone number 006281280660134, 006281289217808 or 00628118280030.

Several explosions went off and gunfire broke out in the centre of the Indonesian capital on Thursday and police said they suspected a suicide bomber was responsible for at least one of the blasts. – REUTERS
