Attorney General’s Chambers organises Maulidur Rasul

IN COMMEMORATING and continuing the celebration of Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) birth anniversary, the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) in conjunction with the Religious Events Committee, organised a Maulidur Rasul yesterday in the Law and Courts Building at Jalan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha.

Present as the guest of honour at the event was the Attorney General, Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Salleh.

Also in attendance was Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Al-Mokhtar bin Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz.

The event commenced with a recitation of prayers, followed by a talk by Ustazah Hajah Zunaidah binti Haji Gunong, Senior Religious Officer from the Islamic Dakwah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs and a presentation of gifts to a retired officer and an award to a recipient of the Excellent Civil Service Award 2015.

The lecture, themed ‘Appre-ciating the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh)’, was delivered by Ustazah Hajah Zunaidah, who highlighted the importance of the Sunnah in our daily lives as it serves to ‘provide knowledge to protect us in this world and the next’.

She explained that following the Sunnah will “make our lives more focused and organised”.

She also touched on issues regarding Sunnah in marriage and the household in general, urging families to love and respect each other, and organise daily or weekly get-togethers to pray ‘Jemaah’ together.

Following the lecture was the presentation of gifts, whose recipients included Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Bungsu who received the Excellent Civil Service Award during the Civil Service Day 2015 ceremony and gifts to several other officers, including Pengiran Yusof bin Pengiran Mat Salleh.
