RUNNING enthusiasts and fans of local artistes had the opportunity to meet and take selfies with their favourite local artistes during the first-ever ‘Marathon with Local Artistes’ held yesterday at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
Present as the guest of honour to launch the event was the Director of Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) Haji Muhammad Suffian bin Haji Bungsu.
Organised by the QD Roses Event Management in collaboration with the local artistes, the morning run saw participants taking part in a Zumba session prior to the run which was led by Actifitness Studio. The running event was divided into two categories – HEPIRUN 1 for the 8km runners and HEPIRUN 2 for the 4km runners.
During the run, local artistes were stationed at their designated booths where participants were instructed to take selfies using their own mobile phones with the artistes as they ran towards the finishing line and the runners who took the most selfie photos with each of the artistes win the prize.

Among the local artistes who took part in the event include Pengiran Hajah Maskuin binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad, Hajah Mona, Murni Sidek, Bego, Sharin, Noriah, Pengiran Hajah Rokiah, Haji Sham, Pengiran Ali, Serudin bin Haji Damit, Dang Limah, Roslee HM, Haji Saini, Neldy, Suzimin, Faridah Haji Ibrahim, Rabi, Aisma Salleh, Mimi Rahzia, Rosman, Gilin and more.
At the same time, some of the sponsors comprising ‘I Lyke Toh Entertainment’ (ILTE), BEGO Hazirul Studio Production, Akar Film Production, Aewon and others, also took part in enlivening the event.
The event later ended with a prize presentation to the winners of the run by the guest of honour followed by a fun lucky draw session. The objectives of the event were to raise awareness on practising a healthy lifestyle as well as to expose and introduce various local artistes to members of the public and to foster the relationship between the artistes and their fans.
