A SAWMILL was devastated by fire at Serambangun, Tutong yesterday.
Superintendent Fire and Rescue (SFR) Md Shazwan Suhaini, the Acting Station Commander of the Tutong Fire Station said a distress call was received around 1.15pm. Three fire engines carrying 16 Fire and Rescue personnel were then rushed to the Syarikat Perusahaan Papan Andulau sawmill.
The fire spread fast through the wooden -structure.
Firefighters managed to put the fire under control within 10 minutes of the operation, with further works running into longer period to make sure everything is safe.
Images of the incident were circulated fast through social media. Tutong District Officer, Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali later visited the fire scene.
